Gaunts Common has a First school and a Pre-School, and state schools for all ages are available in Wimborne. Public schools including Dumpton, Canford and Castle Court are all easily accessible. There is a popular post office/shop in the neighbouring village of Furzehill, and Wimborne offers excellent recreational and retail facilities, including a Waitrose store. The larger towns of Poole and Bournemouth both have mainline railway stations to London Waterloo.
The cottage has a spacious lounge/dining room with an exposed brick fireplace and a wood burner, and access to Bedroom 3, which features a steep staircase to a useful loft room.
An inner hallway leads to the utility room which houses the oil fired combination boiler, and there is a shower room with an over-sized shower, WC and wash basin.
The large kitchen/breakfast/family room, which forms part of the extension, features an excellent range of oak-fronted wall and base cupboards, a central island unit housing the oven and hob, an integrated dishwasher and fridge-freezer, and stairs to Bedroom 2.
On the first floor, Bedroom 1 is a spacious double room with a feature fireplace surround and a range of built-in wardrobes. There is also a modern fitted bathroom with a deep panelled bath, a wash basin and a WC. Bedroom 2 is a double room with a feature sloping ceiling, a window to the rear and 2 windows to the side. There is also a useful landing/study area.
Outside, a large gravel driveway provides parking for numerous vehicles and leads to a detached garage with timber double doors.
To the rear of the cottage there is an attractive, paved terrace area with barbecue and outside oven, in turn leading to the rear garden which is of a good size and is lawned, with mature shrubs.
Little Thatch benefits from oil fired central heating.
